From the University Librarian: The Libraries are here for your success!
As the new academic year gets underway, the librarians and staff at the UCI Libraries are here to assist in your teaching, research, and learning endeavors.
To give you a sense of the tremendous impact the Libraries have on campus, I will share some statistics at right that represent a typical day in the life of the UCI Libraries.
While our staff are busy serving our user’s needs, they are also increasingly involved in partnering and leading on critical campus issues that are at the frontiers of learning and research.
In this issue we highlight a number of these exciting initiatives. For example, read about how the Libraries are assisting with the campus adopting the new University of California Open Access Policy.
Learn about our new Research Resources Division and how it realigns key library functions to better support research and scholarly communication.
And check out a number of our new services and programs that help you with your research and teaching, such as upcoming copyright assistance workshops, a library guide on new research metrics, services to help you navigate the complex National Institutes of Health Public Access Policy, and much more!
We hope you will have a productive and exciting year ahead, and will take advantage of the services, collections, and learning spaces that the Libraries have to offer!
Best Wishes,
